Reading progress update: I've read 51 out of 270 pages.

After Annasai tricks won of Stronheart's (her future husband whom she is basically betrothed to) men into climbing to the top of a 40 foot tree to retrieve some ripe fruit for her and falls, her father gives her some advice.
"Daughter," he addressed his girl, "I suggest you have a talk with your future husband and tell him you regret what happened. I think some lip trembling and batting of eyelashes will serve you well. A few tear maybe."
I am very curious to see if the author can make this book enjoyable. The plot is very different. After some world changing event, the word has basically shifted back to a culture fit for historical times. We will see.
