What a catch! Haha! This is who her aunt is trying to hook her up with! I would strangle my aunt, and Hubert. What a name!
Excerpt:
"In June, I graduated Cambridge top of my class," Hubert says. "Mother wants me to study law, to follow in Father's footsteps, but I'm preoccupied with teeth. They're fascinating, don't you think? May I see?"
In an attempt to conceal my appalled reaction, I hide my mouth behind the fan. His request is forward and boorish, but then the upper-crust are known to be a crass set--- as if manners don't apply to them.
"Go on," he says. "I won't bite. Get it?" He laughs as his own joke.
The fan lowers enough to offer a forced smile.
"Not bad," he observes, too close comfort. "They could be straighter, but they're not terrible. How often do you brush?"
Maybe more than anything, I want to hit Hubert over the head with my fan. "Twice a day if possible," I demurely answer instead.
