Serena & the Wild Doll - Philip Coristine, Julie Gucova

This is a neat book. I read it with a 6 year old girl, ten times in that last three days.

This is about a doll who has been left in an attic. She watches her self slowly becoming less perfect in a mirror. She longs for a child to love her. One day she embarks on a journey with a "wild" doll in search of a new child. Their adventure is one that takes them to many places.

There is a scary undertone to this book. It may not be a great fit for easily frightened children. I would definitely make sure that the first reading was done with an adult to ensure that bit is an appropriate choice. I read it with two little girls the first time I read it. One loved it, the other was frightened by the dark pictures and predicaments that the doll experienced.
